It was a Wilde Thyme in Baltimore

On my one day off this week I found myself driving to, you guessed it, Baltimore! I made the hour and a half drive this time to the east side of Baltimore to CCBC Essex, to watch an NPSL soccer league game. I had to scheme my way past the ticket booth, so that I didn't have to pay the ridiculous 10$ ticket price for me and my sister to watch kids my own age to play a summer league game.

Summer leagues and especially the NPSL leagues, are fun to go to because each team consists of the best current and former college soccer players representing their hometowns and competing against their friends and college teammates. Fc Baltimore consisted of some friends from Loyola, and other soccer friends I've made while growing up, while Fc Frederick consisted of all the kids who I grew up with in the Frederick soccer system and was home for break.

Normally over the duration of a soccer game, a spectator (myself) would enjoy a hotdog or a burger, with some chips and a soda. However, Fc Baltimore really upped the experience of going to a soccer game. While at the game I had the opportunity to try "Wilde Thyme," a food truck that serves the Baltimore area. Wilde Thyme is a traveling restaurant started by a group of women, that use all locally grown and in season products, with their menu changing as the season do.

Their menu for the soccer game consisted of various Pita's, hummus dips, salads, a "Breakfast Sammie," grits, wings, vanilla ice cream and more. The most popular item that was seen in the hands of everyone in the stands, was their freshly made Strawberry Lemonade which was served with a skewer of frozen strawberries in it.

Overall I wish I had known that Wilde Thyme would be at the game because I would have brought more money. As my 10$ only went as far as 1 drink and a side of sweet potato fries for my sister and I. The small tastes and experience that I did have of Wilde Thyme definitely has me wanting to make the drive back to Baltimore again, and with my summer schedule I am sure I will be back again, the next day.
