Jimmie Cone, also known as Jcone for those from the Frederick County area, Jimmie Cone is an absolute must stop anytime you have cash, that’s right, cash, no credit or debt cards accepted. This ice cream stop serves the classic soft serve with rainbow or chocolate jimmies, don’t say sprinkles because you might get a couple stares from those around you. 

You must visit as many times as possible because as soon as fall hits and your ice cream cravings are still lingering you won’t be able to satisfy it with Jimmie Cone. Open only for the late spring and summer months, Jimmie Cone is an instant hangout spot for the hot months. Those who visit know just where to park to ensure they’re not out of place either. Families park in the first or second parking row, with those who drive trucks (a Frederick classic) park on the far side of the parking lot, but they must be backed into the space, because who pulls into a space with a truck, (rolling my eyes). And so if you don’t fit into any of those categories you get to park in the middle of the parking lot in between the kids who can’t decide between rainbow or chocolate jimmies or the kids who think it’s cool to rev their engine when girls walk by. Unfortunately there were no trucks in attendance to take a picture of when I visited Jimmie Cone, how sad. 

What makes Jimmie Cone special is the idea that there is only 2 locations, within Frederick and Montgomery County. The Frederick location has made its way into residents lives by providing a family friendly atmosphere (minus the truck guys). Once you eat your ice cream your welcomed to stay in sit at one of the many picnic tables they have and enjoy the music they play through speakers. It truly isn’t a great summer night until you’ve had your Jcone ice cream!
