Farmers Market

Held on Thursday’s, and Fridays if it rains on Thursday, the Farmers Market of Topsail Island is the best place to go for items especially made from Topsail. While walking around the market you could find lots of jewelry or paintings of the island. While many of the sellers were selling similar items it was fun to see the different takes and ideas that the artist’s had about Topsail. 

After walking through the entire market, we returned to out favorite tents to purchase the items that caught our eyes. My sister who is absoultly obsessed with the beach bought a couple of paintings, and signs that were topsail related. My mom a big fan of jewelry bought multiple sea glass necklaces or earrings, with matching necklaces of course. I enjoyed getting some rings for my best friend back home and North Carolina State cut out for myself.After walking around for a while, we were able to cool down with some Island Crush, an Italian Ice shop in Topsail. 

I think farmers markets like these are super cool and awesome for small towns and for small businesses. The ability to buy items from those who call Topsail home and love the island so much, makes the purchase even more personable because most of the items consist of something they have found on the Island.
