Maryland Derby

After going to my workout, work, and my internship I had found 45 minutes of time in my schedule to check out the new rivalry of FC Baltimore and Fc Frederick. After attending their first game against each other, I was eager to see the rematch.

Arriving at halftime I was excited to see 0-0 on the scoreboard. After making my way down the sideline I found my self with no where to sit other than behind the "Blue Army." The Blue Army is Fc Frederick super fan section that consists of this man, his wife, his 2 young kids, and whoever wants to join them for the game.

The game was a back and forth battle for the first goal, both teams played hard and were determined to get 3 points out of the game. With FC Baltimore in 1st place and Fc Frederick in 2nd, the race for home field advantage in the playoffs would come down to tonights game and the last games of the season.

In the 75th minute the game would break its tie and Baltimore would gain a 1-0 lead after a header on a corner. While I was rooting for Frederick, I enjoyed watching all of my Loyola friends and former travel ball friends play against each other. I look forward to attending the playoffs and am hoping for another Maryland Derby rematch.
